Human Factor Engineering Laboratory
Human Factor Engineering Laboratory

The Human Factor Engineering Laboratory was established in 2008 and the total investment amounted to nearly RMB 1 million. Now the lab possesses five sets of experimental facilities including ASL eye tracker, Eyelink 2000 eye tracker, behavioral observation analytic system, tachistoscope and cognitive ability test system. Eye tracker system can collects visual pursuit data of human-computer interface, such as eye track and time characteristics of fixation point from instrument, cognitive interface, and control panel. The system can be applied to research man-machine interaction, ergonomics, graphical user interface, advertising psychology, AI and robot learning, traffic psychology etc. The Observer XT is a conventional tool to research human behavior and can be used to record and analyze subjects’ movements, gestures, motions, locations, expressions, emotions, social interaction and man-machine interaction. This system can be applied to research psychology, human factor engineering, product usability test, man-machine interaction, behavioristics and consumer behavior, etc. This lab has carried out following researches: simulation study on usability test of cell phone’s soft interface, neurology research of network ads, research on China-German cultural decision-making and communication prevention, etc.
