The School of Economics and Management began to build the Railway Transportation Big Data Laboratory in 2014, and now the lab has operated preliminarily while other facilities are being constructed and improved. Now the lab has purchased two high performance servers and a number of mating computer terminals.

Based on the strategic cooperation between SWJTU and Chengdu Railway Bureau, the Railway Transportation Big Data Laboratory has cooperated with passenger traffic department and cargo department of Chengdu Railway Bureau in terms of big data of railway passenger transport and big data of railway cargo transport, hoping to obtain deep understanding of natures of railway transportation big data concerning time, space etc. and to make contributions to new science knowledge. Now the lab has conducted a series of researches such as analysis and prediction of passenger flow peak time at the Spring Festival, passenger flow forecast and capability deployment of some passenger transport line, cargo customer relationships management etc. This lab offers valuable suggestions to railway administration when they make logistics decisions.

Above-mentioned scientific research labs constitute the Sichuan Provincial Key Laboratory for “Service Science and Innovation” and our School’s scientific research team, offering great scientific research environment and conditions to teachers and postgraduates and doctors.
